近年、自然と自由を愛する若者を中心に全国的なブームを呼んでいてるアジアン家具。
中でも“ＷＡＹＡＮ ＫＡＲＳＡ”は特にバリの伝統と芸術を深く心酔しており、その文化を日本に伝えるべく、
常夏の楽園を再現するような自然素材のファニチャーをチョイス。部屋に置いているだけで、
バカンス気分が味わえるアイテムの数々で、「バリ雑貨」の代名詞的存在として知られている。
日本家屋によく合う黒竹を用いた商品が多く、機械生産に頼らず、職人の手でひとつひとつ作り上げられているため、
自然味に溢れ、他の雑貨や家具にも溶けこむ優しい風合いが可能となっている。
ちなみに不思議な語感の“ワヤンカルサ”だが、インドネシア語で「夢を追う強い意志を持った人」を意味する。
店名には、そんな人たちを空間づくりという観点からサポートしたいという願いがこめられているのだ。

Wayan Karsa is an Asian furniture store where is popular among young people
who love nature and freedom. The style of their furniture is especially inspired
by a culture and art of the island, Bali. And this store dedicates and introduce
the culture to Japan by featuring tropical island-like natural material. They don’t
depend on machine for their manufacturing so each product is thoroughly made by
artisan’s hands. This unfamiliar word, Wayan Karsa is Indonesian means ”a person
who pursues his dream with a strong will”.
