ティンバーランドの歴史は1918年までさかのぼります。 マサチューセッツ州ボストンの小さな靴屋でティンバーランドの創立者である ネイサン・シュワーツがステッチの利いたブーツ作りを始めました。
彼自身の手でレザーを裁断し、縫製し、ソールを貼り付けることで、 ネイサンは精巧なレザーブーツの作り方を習得しました。
1952年、ネイサンはアビントン・シューカンパニーの権利の半分を手に入れました。 3年後、彼は残りの権利を買い取り、息子たちを会社に招きいれたのです。 お互いが力を合わせ、彼らは10年近くも大手靴メーカーのために靴を作りました。 1973年、豊かな自然が本来の姿のまま残る米国東海岸ニューイングランド地方で、 あるレザーブーツが誕生しました。
この地方の自然環境と向き合うため、またそこで働く人々の足下を快適かつ安全に守るため、 画期的な手法が用いられた完全防水のレザーブーツ。 「ティンバーランド」と名付けられたそのブーツは、形の美しさだけにとどまらず、 誇り高いクラフトマンシップに支えられた技術が、あらゆる自然環境に対応する機能性を商品に与え、 現在では世界中で支持していただくまでになりました。

1F: TimberlandThe beginning of Timberland is usable boots created by a guy named
Nathan Schwartz in Boston in 1918. He had learned a new way to create
leather boots by his hand and after he acquire the half of the rights
of Abington Shoe Company in 1952, he invited his sons to the company.
They had been making boots for the big shoe makers for the next decades
and invented the one leather boots in 1973. This was afterword called
"Timberland" and lead them to be a world famous shoe maker.

創業天正10年（1582年）。甲州印傳（インデン）の老舗で
現在は13代目上野勇七氏が当主となる。
印傳（インデン）は鹿皮に漆で文様を入れたもので非常に丈夫で
使い込むほどに風合いが増し、和服にも合います。
400年以上の歴史があり戦国武将の鎧兜などの武具がスタート
時代の流れとともに印籠、巾着、煙草入れ、現代では財布やバック、
小物いれなどに形を変えています。
名刺入れなどは海外の方へのお土産などに最適です。
